Utility Plant
Operator (Certified)
Part-Time Temp
Department: Public Works
Compensation: $15.15 hourly
Hours: Days - Alternate weekends/Holidays/
approximately 32 hours per month
Required Drivers License: Valid Florida Drivers License
Required Certifications: Class “C” Wastewater License
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operating a wastewater treatment plant; performing basic
chemical and bacteriological tests; preparing and maintaining
records on facility systems and operations. Work is performed
under the regular supervision of the Utility Plant Supervisor.

Makes regular tours of plant
and equipment performing plant operations

Monitors gauges, meters,
control panels and SCADA systems

Maintains operating records
and logs; calibration data and process control information
-
Records readings from meters
and instrumentation
-
Determines operating
conditions / makes corrective and preventative changes in
plant process
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-
Knowledge of the operating
characteristics and maintenance requirements of a wastewater
treatment plant

Knowledge of SCADA system use
-
Knowledge of local, state and
federal rules and regulations pertaining to wastewater
treatment
-
The ability to read meters
charts and accurately maintain records of shift operations
