Waste and Recycling

The City of Neptune Beach
has contracted with Waste Pro to provide all residential and commercial
solid waste and recycling collection.
For commercial collection.
please contact the City of Neptune Beach at 904-270-2400. All other
service requests or complaints are to be directed to Waste Pro by phone
at 904-731-7288 or electronically through the links listed below.
All calls and electronic
inquires are entered into a real time web based tracking system which
will document all issues and their timely resolutions. This information
is shared simultaneously with Waste Pro and the City, creating a
permanent record, to insure accountability and the highest level of
service delivery.

Residential Garbage – is
collected at curbside from all residences two (2) times per week. On
collection days please have your containers at the curb by 7:00 AM and
empty containers removed from the curb by 7:00PM.
Garbage
Collection Schedules
Residents living EAST of Penman Road your garbage pickup days are
Monday & Thursday.
Residents living WEST of Penman Road your garbage pickup days are
Tuesday & Friday.
Residential Recycling – is collected at curbside from all
residences one (1) time per week. On collection day your recycling bin
is to be at the curb by 7:00 AM and removed by 7:00 PM. A chart of
acceptable recyclable materials is provided below.

Blvd your recycling pickup day is Monday.
Residents living EAST of Penman Road and SOUTH of Florida
Blvd your recycling pickup day is Thursday.
Residents living WEST of Penman Road and NORTH of Forest
Avenue your recycling pickup day is Tuesday.
Residents living WEST of Penman Road and SOUTH of Forest
Avenue your recycling pickup day is Friday.
Residential Yard Waste is collected at curbside from all
residences one (1) time per week. Yard Waste is to be placed at the curb
by 7:00 AM on collection day. Loose debris such as, grass clippings,
leaves, pine needles, etc. must be containerized or bagged. Tree limbs
shall be less than 6 inches in diameter, cut in lengths no longer than 5
feet and no single item may exceed 50 pounds. This does not include land
clearing operations or preparation for construction or tree trimming by
a landscaping contractor or tree surgeon. For items exceeding 50 pounds
or diameters greater than 6 inches a special pickup can be requested for
a reasonable service charge.
Yard Waste
Collection Schedule
All Yard Waste is collected throughout the City on Wednesday.
Residential Appliances will be collected from curbside weekly on
Wednesdays. Please schedule appliance pickup by contacting Waste Pro at
least a day in advance and place appliances at the curb only on
Wednesdays.
Bulk Waste is defined as large items, such as furniture, toys,
etc. and will be collected along with regularly scheduled garbage
Hazardous Waste will not be collected and residents are
encouraged to dispose of these items in a responsible manner at
facilities permitted for their processing. These include but are not
limited to, paints, thinners, pesticides, pool chemicals, motor and
cooking oils.
Holiday Schedule
The City of Neptune Beach and Waste Pro observe two (2) holidays per
year, those being Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Any scheduled
collections on these days will be collected the following day. The
scheduled collections on the following day will be moved forward one
day. For example, Thursday Thanksgiving collections will be made on
Friday and regularly scheduled Friday routes will be collected on
Saturday.
Recycling
Information
Single-family residents
can recycle all of these items curbside in their blue bin:

Plastic food, beverage, detergent
bottles and jugs with narrow necks and screw-on tops that are
labeled with a

Labels do not need to be removed.

Glass bottles and jars (green, brown,
and clear; please place tops/lids in garbage; labels do not need to
be removed)

Metal and aluminum cans

Newspapers and inserts (on rainy days,
please hold until next collection day)

Magazines, catalogs & telephone books

Brown paper bags (can also be used to
hold excess recyclables)

Corrugated cardboard (flattened and
cut in pieces 2' by 3' or smaller)

No plastic bags, milk cartons, or
juice boxes

No motor oil, pool chemical, pesticide
or fertilizer bottles
-
No shredded paper
